The admissions season is a bustling time at our school, drawing thousands of applications each year for ICSE school admission in Bangalore, a testament to our standing as a sought-after ICSE educational institution in Koramangala and Sarjapur Road.

Interested in being a part of Bethany in the 2025-26 intake?
Admissions are open for feeder schools and the Sarjapur branch. BHS Koramangala will open shortly.

Admissions Process: Starting in August, applications for Pre Nursery admissions open, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for both prospective students and our school. As one of the best ICSE school admission options in Bangalore, Bethany High has transitioned to a fully online admissions process to accommodate the high volume of applications and keep pace with the evolving landscape of technology. This digital shift streamlines the application procedure and aligns with our commitment to environmental sustainability by reducing paper use. Please note we no longer issue physical application forms, a change from our previous practices.

Criteria for Selection: The process of shortlisting candidates for Pre Nursery commences in the first week of January. Our dedicated Admissions Committee undertakes this crucial task, meticulously evaluating each application based on 15 criteria.

These criteria include, but are not limited to, the applicant’s age, whether the child has siblings already enrolled at Bethany, the alumni status of their parents or relatives, and the proximity of the student’s residence to the school. This thorough and thoughtful approach ensures a fair and holistic review of all applications.

Embarking on a Journey of Learning

Joining Bethany means joining a nurturing environment that encourages growth, learning, and community spirit. We look forward to the possibility of welcoming you and your family to one of the best ICSE Schools in Bangalore. Our esteemed institution is ready to make your journey

Understanding Our Selection Process

At Bethany, our selection process is designed to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each prospective student. A key part of this process includes a meeting with the parents, enabling us to gain deeper insights into your child’s unique qualities and needs. Our commitment to fairness and equality is unwavering; we ensure our selection is unbiased, with no discrimination based on gender, caste, or creed. Additionally, for primary applicants, we do not conduct tests, as we believe in assessing their potential through more holistic methods.

Admissions Beyond Primary

School admission in Bethany Bangalore primarily depends on seat availability for classes beyond primary. The application process for filling vacancies begins in April. We are dedicated to providing focused, individual attention to each student, so we limit our class sizes to a maximum of 35 students.

Junior College Admissions

Admissions for our Junior College (classes XI and XII) commence in April. Prospective students are interviewed before their standard X board results are announced. Bethany prides itself on having been consistently named as one of the best ISC schools in Bangalore for 11th and 12th, thus making the process rigorous. Admission is based solely on merit and an interview process for all prospective students.

Students can choose from three streams of specialisation: Science, Commerce, and Arts, allowing them to tailor their education to their interests and career aspirations.

NIOS (NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF OPEN SCHOOLING)

NIOS is an Open School which caters to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to the pre-degree level. It was started as a project with in-built flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1979. At the Secondary and Senior Secondary levels, NIOS provides flexibility in the choice of subjects/courses, pace of learning, and transfer of credits from CBSE, some Board of School Education and State Open Schools to enable learner’s continuation.

A learner has as many as nine chances to appear in public examinations over five years. The credits gained are accumulated till the learner clears the required credits for certification. The learning strategies include learning through printed self-instructional material, audio and video programmes, participating in personal contact Programmes (PCP), and Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA). Acknowledging that young entrepreneurs will be the nation’s wealth, the learner-friendly Vocational Education programmes of NIOS provide excellent prospects for learners.

It offers Vocational Education programmes in different areas, such as Agriculture, Business and Commerce, Engineering and Technology, Health and Paramedical, Home Science and Hospitality Management, Teacher Training, Computer and IT-related sectors, Life Enrichment Programmes and General Services.

How are the exams conducted?

> Internal exams ( conducted by school)

> During the academic year, the school will conduct

> Two tests in July and November

> 2 exams in September and February

> Apart from these, the students will be continually evaluated throughout the year using CIA (Continuous Internal Assessments)

> External exams (conducted by the NIOS board)

> Two board exams in March/April (subjects: painting & DEO)

> Two board exams in September/October (subjects: bakery/DTP & English)

> Two board exams in March/April (subjects: home science/business studies & social science)

What does the NIOS curriculum demand of its students?

> The students need to keep up with the lessons taught in school by revising them daily at home. They need to write notes regularly. (Those needing a scribe, additional time in submitting notes, abridged versions of the notes, photocopies, etc, will be allowed. This will depend on a case-to-case basis). Students must maintain a practical record book for subjects with a practical paper (painting, DEO, home science).

> Parents also need to take an active role in their ward’s learning progress, especially about notices that the school sends via Edumerge (School Management App) and the school diary for academics and the NIOS dashboard/website for registration details, exam fees, dates etc.

Is it easy to get admission into colleges after NIOS?

> Yes. All colleges have a quota for NIOS students. All our previous batch of students have secured admissions into reputed colleges. Please remember that this curriculum is recognised in India and abroad as it is similar to CBSE, and the textbooks are from NCERT.

How do I get the textbooks for NIOS?

> All the students will receive their textbooks directly from the Board upon completing their registration with the NIOS board. This may take a couple of months to arrive. In the meantime, printouts of the first few lessons in every subject can be made, as all the textbooks are available in pdf format on the website.  www.nios.ac.in < online course material < secondary courses < click on the subject to be viewed.
